High-intensity exercise burns fat and builds muscles to a certain extent; however, it may hurt due to the lack of professional guidance. The achievable muscle contraction is also limited. Emsculpt, a new body-contouring treatment, uses High-Intensity Focused Electro-Magnetic (HIFEM) technology to induce muscle contractions, improve muscle mass, and burn excessive fat for body reshaping.

Emsculpt is a FDA and CE approved device that simultaneously build muscle and burn fat in difficult areas such as buttocks, and abdomen. During each session, the new HIFEM technology induces approximately 20,000 forced muscle contractions, considered supramaximal contractions which are normally not achievable by voluntary muscle action. It is equivalent to doing 20,000 sit-ups or squats in 30-minute.

Procedure

HIFEM is a non-invasive treatment with no anesthesia required, and no downtime. Each Emsculpt treatment takes 30 minutes. Paddles are placed on the treatment area to be treated, then electro-magnetic pulses stimulate the muscles to contract. The process is heatless and painless that the patients can simply relax themselves. Some patients experience muscle soreness following this treatment, but this is temporary.

The treatment requires four 30-minute sessions, twice a week for two weeks.

Result

The results of the studies proved that average apoptotic levels in fat cells increased by 92% after 1 session; abdominal fat reduced on average by 19%, abdominal muscle (abs) mass increased on average by 15.4%, and waist circumference decreased on average by 1.4 inch (about 3.5cm) after 4 sessions.

To achieve maximum results, patients are advised to undergo a treatment (4 sessions) every 2 to 3 months for the maintenance of muscle mass and body shape.
